The following story describes how Forensic Logic COPLINK provided critical information for a homicide.
A key piece of information describing the tattoo of a suspect of interest was provided for a homicide case. Initially a search was conducted on the agency internal systems for more informaion on the tattoo. The internal systems provided no further documentation related to the tattoo so a seach was then made, using the same tattoo details, within COPLINK X. COPLINK X immediately found an association with a female and a known first name. Additional details, such as a further tattoo description and the area the subject frequented were provided within the COPLINK X search engine. These additional details matched known information provided by the detective.
