On October 21, 2021, retired Oakland police captain Ersie Joyner survived 22 bullet wounds at an Oakland gas station. Within minutes, police responding to a ShotSpotter alert arrived at the scene before any human called 911, transporting Ersie to Highland Hospital so he could get the timely medical attention he desperately needed. “I tell people all the time there are five things that kept me alive and have me here right now today,” Joyner said. “And those five things in this particular order are God, ShotSpotter, the Oakland Police Department, Highland staff, and love and prayers.”
In this webinar, learn more about how ShotSpotter Respond was critical to saving Joyner’s life, and how the law enforcement search engine platform COPLINK X helped lead investigators to the perpetrators.
